01. Help features available at www.ratp.fr
The www.ratp.fr website offers many features that allow all online users to easily browse the site.
On all our webpages, the RATP logo is displayed in the banner. Simply click on the logo to return to the website’s home page.
The banner on the ratp.fr home page provides access to the itinerary search engine and newsfeed tags.
Quick access menu
The quick access menu is displayed on the ratp.fr website’s home page, below the banner, and on the website’s headings (excluding main hubs). It provides you with direct access to:
- RATP’s social media accounts: Instagram, Twitter and Facebook
- The language feature (toggle between French and English)
- The ratp.fr website’s search engine
- maRATP, the passenger services app: https://maratp.ratp.fr/
- Key sections: Itinerary planner, Hours, Maps, Visiting Paris
- The group’s newsfeed via the button “RATP Group news”
- Hamburger menu
The hamburger icon displayed to the right of the menu provides access to all of the website’s sections.
The footer menu allows you to access additional pages, such as website accessibility, personal data, legal notices, the RATP Mediator’s website, and the site map.
In “Direct Access”, the footer offers links to accessibility, institutions, suppliers, media, and help & contact us. The footer also provides access to RATP’s social media accounts: Facebook, Youtube, Linkedin, Twitter, and Instagram.
The ratp.fr home page provides access to the banner, quick access menu, hamburger menu and footer menu, as well as direct access to the following sections:
- Traffic information
- Help & contact us
- Join RATP
- RATP Group
On all pages of the website except the home page, the “breadcrumb trail” is displayed above the main content.
This navigation tool allows you to see where the current page is located in relation to the website’s hierarchy.
It indicates the path travelled from the home page to the current page, and allows you to navigate the website’s hierarchy via links.
The site map is accessible on all pages of the website via a link in the footer menu.
The site map allows you to see the website’s arborescence and to directly access a page or section.
The search feature is available on all pages via the quick access menu.
When conducting a search, the website’s search engine lists the pages that best correspond to your search criteria.
02. Browser features
In addition to the tools available directly on the website, the website was designed to allow your browser to take full advantage of its own features.
Access to previous website
Since certain accessibility features are still being finalised, the website proposes to switch to the previous RATP website. A hidden message visible to keyboard users or screen readers also prompts users to switch to the old website if necessary.
Increasing text size
All website pages offer you the possibility of increasing the text size.
If you are using a PC, press the Ctrl and + keys simultaneously to increase the text size. Use the Ctrl and – keys to reduce the text size.
Press this key combination several times to increase or decrease the text size by increments.
You may also use the key combination Ctrl and 0 (the number “zero”) to return to the default setting for the text size.
If you are using a Mac, simply use the Cmd key instead of the Ctrl key in the key combinations mentioned above to activate the same features.
Keyboard navigation will soon be available throughout the site, using the Tab and Enter keys and the Space bar, as well as the arrow keys on your keyboard.
03. Certification of RGAA compliance
Several aspects of the www.ratp.fr website, including accessibility, are currently being improved.
In order to produce visible results as quickly as possible, we will launch an accessibility project as soon as the website is released:
- Complete assessment by Atalan
- Tests involving user associations
- Support and “4 hands” development to launch the first adjustments on the project platform
- Definition of the threshold to be reached before initiating the switchover and encouraging users to use the new website.
- Release of a more accessible site, and certification of RGAA compliance as soon as possible.
