Vivatech 2019: the city has a future with RATP Group

Meet us from 16 to 18 May 2019 in our Lab and discover 33 start-ups, there to pitch solutions that reflect the Group’s major challenges.

In a rapidly changing environment (urbanisation and increasing mobility needs, energy transition, new forms of technology that are changing uses and expectations, a new competitive landscape, etc.), our ambition is to be the leader in sustainable and connected mobility and therefore become the privileged partner of smart and sustainable cities.

This ambition is supported by concrete actions that allow working in a coherent and robust way towards a smart city, i.e. a city designed for humans: fluid, connected, sustainable and inclusive at the same time.

We are presenting several of our innovations at Vivatech:

  • RATP Group’s first MaaS application in Annemasse
An “all-in-one” Mobility as a Service (MaaS) solution to provide a multimodal mobility experience to passengers on the TAC network operated by RATP Dev.
  • AMY, a mobile app for safety
A mobile app to keep pedestrians safer when a bus or tram is approaching. Using ultrasound, the app sends alerts to pedestrians’ smartphones, to warn them of the imminent arrival of a bus or tram when they are on a pedestrian crossing.
  • IoT applied to RATP Group’s core business
Sensors installed to monitor and maintain our infrastructure on RER line B.
  • From Smart City to Smart Mountain with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology
The Serre Chevalier ski resort has chosen RATP Smart Systems to launch an experimental new hands-free validation system via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
  • Demonstration of the “Be Salam” harassment reporting app
App developed in RATP Group’s “Casaroc” Lab in Casablanca.

Do you know Urbanopolis?

In order to explore, accelerate and share the ideas that make the city move forward with its inhabitants, we created the URBANOPOLIS network of innovation sites in 2018. The six Labs host conferences, support projects with Open Innovation schemes and can also serve as showrooms.
We collaborate with start-ups in order to improve the customer experience, invent new business and transform the way we work.

There are 3 collaboration formats:

  • Purchase of solution and product (the Group is the start-up’s customer)
  • Co-construction in bidding for tenders (the Group is the start-up’s business partner)
  • Investment via the RATP Capital Innovation fund (the Group is an investor in the start-up)

The programme promises a simple pathway with a short loop:

  • A single point of contact ([email protected])
  • A dedicated team
  • Adapted contractual conditions
  • Payment in 30 days maximum and, for the most promising, a pitch in front of the RATP teams

Since the start of 2019, 17 start-up collaborations have been launched, twice as many as in 2018. In order to source the best start-ups, we also work closely with the Venture Capital ecosystem and accelerators in France and Europe: Partech Ventures, Aster, EIT Digital, Paris&Co, le Hub BPI, France Digital, Wilco and others.
